Registered Nurse (RN) -Med/Surg 36 hours/week, night shift
About The Position
Come join our J5 team, and work on a combined adult and pediatric medical surgical unit. Our nurses have been the recipients of many Daisy awards including the Team Daisy Award. We have an established unit practice council and have a dedicated Clinical Nursing Educator. J5 is a 26-bed adult medical/surgical unit combined with a thirteen-bed pediatric unit. The pediatric area specializes in the delivery of comprehensive medical and surgical care of the pediatric patient from neonate to 18 years of age. The most frequent medical diagnoses for adult medical patients are · COPD · Pneumonia · Uncontrolled diabetes and sequelae · AKI · Sepsis · Cellulitis · Diverticulitis · Abdominal pain • weakness/fall • The most frequent medical diagnoses for pediatric patients are •asthma• bronchiolitis • • pneumonia • UTI • abdominal pain • dehydration • cellulitis • behavioral • fever • Pediatrics is affiliated with Boston Children’s Hospital and is supported by Boston Children’s physicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) preferred.
- Pediatric experience preferred
