About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med Surg Ortho unit located at the Florence, Kentucky location. The licensed registered nurse is a professional responsible and accountable for providing evidence-based clinical care to designated patients using the nursing process. This involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care according to ethical/cultural codes and nursing practice standards, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes. The role also includes delegating tasks appropriately to other licensed and unlicensed healthcare team members and demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all patient, family, visitor, and employee interactions.

Requirements

  • Graduate from accredited School of Nursing
  • If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed
  • Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses
  • Focus of education promotes nurses’ ability to practice in clinical area assigned
  • Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, policies and competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration
  • Competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures
  • Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area
  • Able to critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process
