About The Position

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Med/Surg 6 unit at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank Campus in Minneapolis, MN. The Med/Surg RN will provide care to medical surgical adult patients with medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions. We are conveniently located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis. Schedule: This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the Day Shift with an every third weekend rotation (F,S,S). About Our Med - Surg 6 WB Unit at the UMMC West Bank: 24 Beds - 12 telemetry beds Care Delivery: 4-5 patient assignment. Our team is prepared to work with a variety of adult patient diagnoses including: Sepsis Overdoses/Withdrawals Surgical Procedures Telemetry Diabetes Pneumonia Altered Mental Status (AMS) And more! Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing
New grads with inpatient clinical experience are encouraged to apply!

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
Preferred experience working as an RN

Responsibilities

Conducting ongoing assessments as determined by patient's condition and/or the hospital policies, procedures or protocols and prioritizes care accordingly.
Establishing and implementing nursing care plans for assigned patient populations through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge.
Prioritizing, delegating, and maintaining oversight of duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader.
Maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility.
Demonstrating the ability to deliver care or service by adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
Collaborating with patients, families, and health care team members
