About The Position

The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Ortho unit, which is a split unit located on the 2nd and 4th floors of the hospital. The role involves working full-time on a Night Shift Weekend Program, specifically from Friday to Sunday, 7 PM to 7:30 AM. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to a variety of patients, including those undergoing urological, general medical-surgical, vascular, orthopedic, and neurological services. The position offers an extra premium incentive for working in the weekend program and allows for one weekend off per quarter.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

  • Involves patients and families in planning and implementing care.

  • Collaborates with healthcare team members to coordinate patient-centered care.
  • Implements strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety.
  • Assesses patient and family readiness to learn and individualizes the approach.
  • Coordinates discharge plans using an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Applies evidence-based practice to deliver patient care.
  • Incorporates nursing and regulatory standards of care into practice.
  • Evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes and takes action when needed.
  • Supports shared governance activities to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Promotes collaboration among healthcare team members.
  • Assumes a leadership role in the care team and delegates appropriately.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and reports patient safety events.
  • Participates in quality/process improvement initiatives.
  • Engages in professional development and attends required meetings.
