About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit on a 13-week contract assignment in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients while managing cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and acute clinical situations in a fast-paced inpatient environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg / Telemetry experience
• Competency in IV placement and peripheral line management
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience working with Rapid Response and Code Teams
• Epic EMR experience (required)
• Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Peripheral line care and management
• Oxygen administration and respiratory support
• Non-invasive airway management
• Infection control and isolation precautions
• BLS (AHA)
• Active New York State RN License

Nice To Haves

• Support unit operations and provide charge nurse support when assigned (preferred experience)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med-Surg and Telemetry patients
• Continuously assess and monitor patient conditions, including cardiac rhythms and vital signs
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Initiate and manage IV therapy, including peripheral line placement and care
• Administer oxygen therapy using nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway devices
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code Teams during patient emergencies
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care and interventions in the Epic electronic medical record
• Support unit operations and provide charge nurse support when assigned (preferred experience)
