Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Swingbed Days
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg Swingbed team. As an RN in this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring excellent outcomes, and adhering to the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act and BBGH policies. You'll be responsible for coordinating patient care, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, and helping achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Position Overview: In this role, the RN will take leadership in managing patient care, ensuring competency in the practice area, and engaging in performance improvement initiatives. You will coordinate with other healthcare professionals to provide individualized, patient-centered care. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will help improve patient outcomes through collaboration and leadership. Your role will include educating peers, patients, and families, supporting service excellence, and contributing to a healing environment. Additionally, you will identify and communicate unit resources needs to be included in budget planning.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
- Valid Nebraska RN license or Nurse License Compact license.
- BLS for healthcare workers (Basic Life Support).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required before completion of orientation.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification required before completion of orientation.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within one year of hire, if assigned to PCU, OB, or Surgery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination of care for patients, working alongside other disciplines to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Act as an educator to peers, patients, and families to improve understanding and enhance care.
- Contribute to performance improvement initiatives to elevate the quality of nursing services.
- Provide patient-centered care, focusing on the needs and preferences of the patient and their family.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver individualized care and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Identify resources and equipment needs and communicate them for budget inclusion.
