This role offers a structured, team-based environment with a focus on orthopedic patient care and strong clinical support. POSITION OVERVIEW The Med-Surg Ortho RN provides patient-centered care to orthopedic and general medical-surgical patients. This role includes assessment, care planning, interventions, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes. SCHEDULE • Days or nights available with rotating weekends • 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm or 7pm–7am) COMPENSATION • Hourly rate $27.72 to $39.60 based on experience • Sign-on bonus: $10,000 days / $15,000 nights • Night differential $3.00/hr • Weekend differential $2.00/hr WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY • Orthopedic-focused Med-Surg unit • Supportive team environment • Predictable scheduling with 12-hour shifts • Stable hospital system with advancement opportunities • Strong clinical leadership and support
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Med-Surg RN experience required
- Active Florida RN license or compact license required
- Must obtain Florida license within required timeframe if relocating
- BLS certification required
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Ability to manage multiple patients in a Med-Surg environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- ACLS preferred, required within 6 months of hire
- BSN preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to orthopedic and Med-Surg patients
- Perform assessments and monitor patient conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams
- Educate patients and families on recovery and treatment plans
- Ensure accurate documentation and patient safety
