About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg General Surgical Dept Bring your passion to Texas Health where we are Better+Together Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours: PRN “As Needed” Days/Nights - Rotating Weekends/Holidays – PRN I requires a minimum of 1 shift per six- week schedule. Department highlights: · Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth · Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team · 36 bed unit · The General Surgical Nurse provides care to a wide variety of post op patients including: complex gastro-intestinal and abdominal surgeries and plastics related wound care cases requiring ostomy, drain and wound vac management. · MAGNET facility · Level I Trauma Center Here’s What You Need · Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required · BSN preferred · Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required · BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required · CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire · 1-year experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting required · 2-years experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred · What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process · Assesses the patient · Plans the care of the patient · Intervenes as appropriate · Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions · Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care. · Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information · Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
