Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg General Surgical Dept Bring your passion to Texas Health where we are Better+Together Work location\: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours \: Full Time 7a-7p - Rotating Weekends/Holidays Department highlights: · Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth · Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team · 36 bed unit · The General Surgical Nurse provides care to a wide variety of post op patients including\: complex gastro-intestinal and abdominal surgeries and plastics related wound care cases requiring ostomy, drain and wound vac management. · MAGNET facility · Level I Trauma Center

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse or the completion of an RN Residency program

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • 2+ years med surg experience as an RN in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
