Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Adult Med/Surg Float Pool at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank Campus in Minneapolis, MN. The Adult Med/Surg Float Pool RN will provide care to medical surgical adult patients with medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions. This unique department is a specialty group comprised of dedicated nurses that support patient care throughout the hospital.   • The RN is responsible and accountable for patient assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention application, and the identification and evaluation of outcomes for patients of all ages and populations.
  • Providing care in an empathetic, equal opportunity manner that is crucial to patients and family's diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Conducting ongoing assessments as determined by patient's condition and/or the hospital policies, procedures, or protocols and prioritizes care accordingly.
  • Establishing and implementing nursing care plans for each patient through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge.
  • Prioritizing, delegating, and maintaining oversight of duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader.
  • Maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility.
  • Demonstrating the ability to deliver care or service by adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
  • Collaborating with patients, families, and health care team members.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
  • 1 year of Telemetry Experience
  • 1 year of Peripheral IV start experience
  • 1 year of Emergency Department, Intermediate, or Progressive Care Unit Experience
