About The Position

Kingsbury is a 25-bed medical-surgical unit, focusing on in-patient care at Cheshire Medical Center. Caring for patients with a variety of medical conditions as well as post-operative patients. You can be part of this competent and committed team performing an exciting diversity of caregiving tasks. Most of our patients are elderly, but we can also see patients as young as 18. You will find that Kingsbury has a good mix of staff experience, and is welcoming to newly licensed individuals. Teamwork is very important, as well as having fun. As a member of this excellent team, you can expect to work 12-hour shifts with an every other weekend and every other holiday rotation, according to the needs of the department. Under the general supervision of the Nursing Team Leader, Clinical Leader and/or the Department Director and under the general direction of the department physicians, you will perform as a member of the healthcare team to apply the nursing process when making nursing judgments and decisions specific to assessment, planning, implementation/delivery, and evaluation of patient care, and documenting relevant data and care processes. We work closely with the education department and the unit educator to ensure everyone is following evidence-based practice. Professional development opportunities abound in Kingsbury, including cardiac telemetry training, ACLS certification, as well as other professional certification support. You will also find several advancement opportunities, such as charge nurse training, preceptor training, and other leadership development courses.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of New Hampshire.
  • Current certification in BLS required.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, interpersonal, and organizational/time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team and respond calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
