About The Position

Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital is expanding to serve more, doubling its bed capacity as part of a major expansion set for completion in early 2026. This growth will bring expanded services to emergency, cardiology, orthopedics, obstetrics, neurology, inpatient dialysis, and additional specialties in our Medical Office Building. The position is located in the Med Surg unit at Berkeley Hospital, with a schedule of 7:00pm to 7:00am (nights) including weekends, totaling 24 hours a week.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
• Associate of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required at hire).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment.
• Identifies and determines the priority of patient's problems/needs.
• Evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care.
• Coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities.
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Analyzes assessment data and creates a plan of care.
• Implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
• Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies.
• Acts as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Participates in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
