About The Position

Requirements

  • RN license issued by the PA Board of Nursing.
  • CPR Certification from the American Heart Association required within 30 days of hire.
  • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • PALS Certification for Urgent Care positions.
  • ACLS Certification for Urgent Care positions.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporates the Lancaster General Health mission, vision, and values into planning patient care.
  • Functions as an independent and interdependent member of the health care team.
  • Performs patient assessments focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive functions.
  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes and adapts the plan of care based on recognized trends and changes.
  • Collects and manages comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation.
  • Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis or issues and formulates an age-appropriate and culturally sensitive plan of care.
  • Implements care knowledgeably and coordinates patient care across several disciplines.
  • Provides leadership to team members by communicating expected standards of care and supporting their contributions.
  • Demonstrates commitment to values of privacy, quality, respect, service, and teamwork.
  • Assigns, delegates, and supervises other employees to ensure continuity of care and achievement of established outcomes.
  • Educates patients and family members about healthy practices and treatment modalities.
  • Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices and utilizes technology appropriately.
  • Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in planning and delivering nursing services.
  • Manages rapidly changing situations following established protocols and documents events.
  • Participates in process improvement activities to enhance nurse-patient relationships and efficiency.
  • Completes mandatory education and training as defined by unit-based Plan for Provision of Care.
  • Maintains a safe working environment through compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Seeks experiences and learning activities to maintain and develop clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Provides supervision, guidance, counseling, and mentoring to peers and subordinates.
  • Participates in the employee performance process related to peers and subordinate team members.
