You will provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for the Intensive Care, Intermediate Care, and Telemetry units. In this role, you will:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (will consider candidates with degree in progress)
  • Minimum 5 years of current, relevant clinical experience, preferably in ICU
  • Current North Carolina RN license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Current AHA BLS required
  • ACLS required within 60 days of hire
  • Strong critical‑thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently
  • Must be able to work in a high‑stress environment and take appropriate action

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations and administrative functions for assigned departments
  • Develop and implement departmental goals, standards, and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with clinical, legal, ethical, and organizational standards
  • Promote a culture of safety for patients, families, and staff
  • Lead and mentor nursing staff, supporting leadership development and professional growth
  • Collaborate with physicians, hospital leadership, and external partners
  • Evaluate business initiatives and recommend process improvements or new services
  • Oversee patient care delivery, technology utilization, and service quality
  • Manage staffing, hiring, orientation, evaluations, and productivity
  • Prepare and monitor departmental budgets
  • Participate in safety rounds, huddles, briefs, and debriefs
  • Support emergency response, disaster planning, and other hospital initiatives
