Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room for a Full Time, Day shift position in Charlottesville, VA. This position has required call. Ideal candidates will have completed a PeriOp 101 program and have experience in scrub and circulator roles. Sign on bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates! Sentara Martha Jefferson Main OR: Performing an average of 7,000 cases each year, the Operating Room at SMJH has 8 OR suites and offers a variety of service lines including Complex GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedic surgery. It is also the 2nd highest-performing OR in the Sentara system for Orthopedic total joint procedures. This position offers 8- and 10-hour schedules (7am-3pm OR 8am to 5PM) with required call. The call schedule is 1 day per week and one weekend per month from 7P to 7A.

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process.
  • Manage complex cases in fast-paced environments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and providers.
  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
  • Registered nursing License (Required).
  • ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
  • PALS within 1 year of hire.
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire.
  • Scrub and circulator experience in an OR.
  • Candidates who have completed a PeriOp 101 program.
  • Candidates who have previous Operating Room Experience.
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred).
