About The Position

We have the finest emergency centers in the nation. Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center has specific service areas for Triage, Pediatric Care, Critical Care, Adult Medical/Surgical and Urgent Care, ensuring focused and dedicated staff, equipment and facilities. The Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse to be part of our skilled and compassionate staff of physicians and nurses.

Requirements

• A graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Current and active New Jersey RN licensure.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS, APLS, or ENPC courses.
• I.V. certified from an approved facility or completion of requirements for I.V. certification within 90 days of hire.
• Strong critical thinking/assessment skills.
• Completion of all Orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice.
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Knowledge of the patient population served.
• Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members.
• Collaborates with other patient care providers.
• Sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes.
• Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning.
• Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
• Utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care.
