About The Position

Urology Center RN Lead- Monday- Friday (8) hr shifts. Start time based on surgical day, 7-3:30 most days, occasionally will need to start at 6am on early start days. Weekend and holiday call only. Weekend call is Sat and Sunday 6am-6:30pm. Holiday call when department is closed is 6am-6:30pm. We have a group of urologist that we work with on a regular bases. services include kidney stone cases resections of bladder tumors prostates stent placements cystoscopies, retrogrades, as well as consults, for foley and suprapubic tube changes. Both local and anesthesia cases. 2 Cysto Rooms, 1 Procedure Room. 2 Minor Procedure Rooms Department consists of: 1 Manager, 5 RNs (including Lead RN), 3 Surgical Technicians What You’ll Do: Deliver individualized care using the nursing process—assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, mobilizing resources and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes. Promote patient safety by implementing risk-reduction strategies and reporting safety events promptly. Verifies patient identity, allergies, and surgical site Educate patients and families, adapting teaching methods to meet unique learning needs and supporting readiness for discharge. Coordinate care and discharge planning through an interdisciplinary approach, ensuring continuity across the healthcare continuum. Lead and delegate effectively, fostering teamwork and supporting unlicensed personnel. Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and unit performance. Maintain professional growth through ongoing education, competency completion, and participation in shared governance activities. Patient Care - positioning of patient, maintains sterile and safe environment, prepares the OR with necessary supplies, time outs, checks for inventory, and documents all aspects of the procedure Schedule Details/Additional Information: Mon-Fri 8 hour shifts with on call obligations Flex start times between 0600-0700 based on surgical schedule Most days 0700-1530 Must Live Within 30min of Hospital for On Call Weekend, and Holiday call rotation required Weekend call is Sat and Sunday 6am-6:30pm. Holiday call when department is closed is 6am-6:30pm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in clinical nursing within an acute care setting.
  • Must Live Within 30min of Hospital for On Call

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in OR or Procedural area would be preferred
