About The Position

Northeast Georgia Health System is rooted in a foundation of improving the health of our communities. The role involves being a capable clinician with previous specialty experience preferred, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. The position requires providing effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients, seeking and providing feedback for improved clinical practice. The role assumes a beginning clinical bedside leadership role and seeks mentoring in this process. The nurse will participate as a professional member of the Professional Nursing Governance Council (PNGC) and contribute to various councils and Nursing Quality Teams. Responsibilities include improving nursing sensitive indicators, RN Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, Culture of Safety, and Patient Experience data, as well as collaborating with care team members to recruit and retain an excellent nursing care team.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
  • Associate Nursing Degree Required.
  • One (1) year of experience as a professional RN.

Nice To Haves

  • National certification in clinical specialty as eligible.
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree.
  • One (1) year experience in Long Term Care.
  • Membership in a professional organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and safe patient care based on the nursing process.
  • Coordinate care for assigned patients on a shift to promote clinical outcomes.
  • Consult with more experienced clinicians and accept feedback for professional development.
  • Demonstrate basic assessment skills and manage care for basic patient assignments.
  • Accurately document all aspects of the nursing process using the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in maintaining and monitoring the work environment to ensure compliance with DNV regulations.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and actively contribute to a culture of safety.
  • Support unit goals and demonstrate support of shared governance.
  • Supervise and ensure completion of tasks assigned to ancillary/support staff.
  • Serve in a unit leadership role(s) and as the Nurse in Charge as necessary.
