About The Position

The position is within the L&D Float Pool at Ascension Saint Thomas, located in Midtown. The schedule is PRN (as needed), during nights, and classified as Tier 3. The role involves implementing and monitoring patient care plans, serving as a primary coordinator for patient care, and assessing discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition 'Compact State' obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
