Banner Staffing Services (BSS) offers Registry/Per Diem opportunities within Banner Health. Registry/Per Diem positions are utilized as needed within our facilities. Women & Infants Services (WIS) is the largest department at Banner University Medical Center- Phoenix. Averaging approximately 6500 deliveries per year, this is a fast-paced environment. BUMC-P is accredited by the Arizona Perinatal Trust as a Level IV Perinatal Center which certifies that we are qualified to take care of the most high-risk patient population. The WIS department at BUMC-P is well known for our specialty programs including placenta accreta management, OB critical care, substance use disorder in pregnancy, and fetal therapies . At Banner University Medical Center- Phoenix we are a Magnet facility and the WIS department has been highlighted in many examples for our Magnet re-designations. As an academic medical center and magnet designated facility, we always have research studies running in our unit. Some of these are nurse driven and others by our OB residency program. We have a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist for Women and Infant Services who continuously looks into the latest research to bring evidenced based practice to our department. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
