Registered Nurse (RN)- Interventional Radiology (M-F 0730-1600 with occasional call) RN will be rotated through prep/recovery and procedures. Will also be giving moderate sedation to patients receiving minimally invasive procedures. Interventional nursing radiology procedures include but are not limited to: liver biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bone biopsies, lower extremity angiogram/angioplasty with lysis, upper extremity angiogram/angioplasty with lysis, bronchial angiogram/angioplasty with embolization, liver chemotherapy embolization, arteriovenous fistula declot, nephrostomy tubes with possible stent placement, mesenteric angiogram/angioplasty with embolization and possible stent placement, carotid angiogram/angioplasty, cerebral angiogram/angioplasty, renal angiogram/angioplasty, tunneled catheter placement, hemodialysis catheter placement, Kyphos/vertebroplasty/thyroid, neck mass, and parotic biopsies with possible fine needle aspiration, biliary/chole drain, soft tissue mass biopsies, IVC filter, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) placement, renal biopsies, lymph node biopsies, lung biopsies, central venous line, adrenal mass biopsies, lumbar puncture/myelo recoveries, cyst embolization's, hip embolization's and chest tubes. IR has eight holding out patient beds, one treatment room and two angio rooms. Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.

  • Rotate through prep/recovery and procedures.
  • Administer moderate sedation to patients receiving minimally invasive procedures.
  • Assess, implement or delegate, plan, and evaluate total nursing care.
  • Provide and direct patient care for a group of patients.
  • Ensure effective communication with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License.
  • Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS required.
  • BSN required or must be obtained within three years of hire.
  • Must have 2 years of acute care experience.
  • Critical care or emergency center experience preferred.
  • Current CRN or certification in field preferred.
  • Critical care or emergency center experience.
