The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the IVCU/Progressive Care (Step down) unit at Memorial Regional Medical Center involves delivering exceptional nursing care to patients, particularly in a dynamic stepdown environment dedicated to the cardiac patient population. RNs in this role will collaborate with the Cardiac Cath Lab and care for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, ablation, pacemaker, and TAVR procedures. The position requires strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, develop care plans, and ensure a safe therapeutic environment.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment
• Analyze assessment data and create a plan of care
• Implement treatment and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
