Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). As a nurse in the IMCU, you’ll provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients requiring close observation and specialized nursing support. You’ll play an essential role in monitoring complex conditions, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and ensuring a smooth transition for patients between critical care and general medical-surgical units. Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of Virginia (or compact state)
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- ACLS certification required within 1 year of hire
Nice To Haves
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Prior intermediate or critical care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care following the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
- Monitor and manage patients with complex medical conditions
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide patient and family education to support recovery and ongoing health
- Maintain safety, quality, and professional standards in all aspects of patient care
