As part of our East Valley expansion efforts, we are adding a new five-story tower to our Banner Gateway Medical center that will bring 109 new patient beds upon initial opening, with additional beds being added at a later date. Our 24 bed Intensive care unit ICU CCU is designed to provide specialized care for adult patients with life-threatening medical conditions. The patient population generally has experienced invasive surgery or organ failure. The unit has an additional focus on surgical oncology. The patient's rooms are all private, spacious and equipped with computer stations just outside the door. The workstation outside the patient’s door contains a window into the room. This set up helps nursing staff with two things, real time documentation as well as direct patient observation as needed. I-Care provides remote 24-hour patient surveillance in every room. This is a full-time day shift position working three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM- 7:30 PM. You will also have the opportunity utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. (the Phoenix Metro area) on the Banner Gateway Campus, the center provides world-class care for oncology patients - both inpatient and outpatient - and has also brought leading oncology programs to the Banner Gateway campus including designation as a Stem Cell Transplant Center of Excellence and comprehensive Head & Neck cancer care. Our capabilities include five linear accelerator vaults, a brachytherapy vault, an advanced diagnostic imaging suite with PET/CT scan, more than 70 infusion bays, a cryopreservation lab and much more. Our inpatient medical oncology unit also incorporates a program that utilizes the electronic surveillance partnership in caring for the patient, where remote nurses have the ability to interact with patients via two-way audio-video to assist the bedside nurse with patient care. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
