The surgical services department has 4 dedicated operating rooms and one specific operating room for cesarean sections where small town Hospitality meets excellence in care. Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 45 days of hire
  • Handle With Care (HWC) within 45 days of hire
  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Must have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Uses the nursing process to provide direct and indirect patient care in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Coordinates with physicians, Nurse Managers, Nursing personnel and other departments to ensure quality patient care and maintain excellence in guest relations.
  • Provides excellent customer service and ease of referral for outside facilities.
  • Provides ED assessments and intake during 1st shift.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills to coordinate activities of unit.
  • Functions as a resource person to nursing personnel.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing on unit.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development and possesses ability to assess, interact, communicate and care for age specific populations.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Completes the referral inquiry assessment to include clinical and demographic information
  • Attends care conference and/or treatment meetings to aid in continued stay necessity with insurance providers
