Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Wound Care - Southside Regional Medical Center Job Summary: The Inpatient Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by: Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status Implementing clinical nursing interventions Having a highly diverse medical skillset Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
  • Wound Care Certification (WOCN Wound or WWC Wound Care Certification) - (required within 3 years of hire)
  • Recent RN experience in acute care and wound care (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) year of wound care experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred, not required)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, understand charting, and assess patient condition
  • Assesses, stages, photographs and measures wounds accurately and in accordance with policy
  • Evaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
  • Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
