About The Position

Our Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit operates as an accredited rehabilitation facility, providing specialized, evidence-based care for patients recovering from complex medical conditions and injuries, upholding the highest standards of care. A multidisciplinary team of nurses, therapists, and physicians works collaboratively to deliver personalized treatment plans that promote healing, restore function, and empower patients to achieve their goals. The unit is divided into two dedicated areas: an Acute Brain Injury Program (10 Beds) for patients with traumatic brain injuries and neurological conditions, and a General Rehabilitation Program (29 Beds) for patients with diverse rehabilitation needs including orthopedic, cardiac, burns, and multi-trauma cases. Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, located in Winston-Salem, NC, is an 885-bed tertiary care hospital housing the region’s only children’s hospital, burn center, and Level I adult and pediatric trauma centers. It is also home to a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and clinical centers of excellence in multiple specialties. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • At least one year RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
