About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Med/Surg unit - Full Time Nights Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better Together Work location: Texas Health Dallas 8200 Walnut Hill Ln. TX 75231 Work hours: Full time| 36 Hours / Week | Night shift | 7 PM – 7 AM Med/Surg Department highlights: Med/Surg Department highlights: Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team with an emphasis on shared governance. Fast-Paced, high-volume department which provides many learning opportunities for the new, and experienced nurse. The professional nurse exhibits an understanding of basic human needs. The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of the patient’s affiliations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support and
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support and
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req

  • BSN preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant other’s need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers.
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
