About The Position

The position is for a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) at Advocate Health, specifically within the AMC Manitowoc County Administration. The role involves working two 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a rotation for weekends and holidays. The RN will float to different departments in the hospital, including medical/surgical, stepdown, same day surgery, and will assist in the Emergency Department to support border patients. An extra premium incentive is available after training for working as an inpatient float RN. The pay range for this position is between $37.50 and $56.25 per hour.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Use the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans.
  • Include patients and families in care planning and maintain therapeutic relationships throughout the healthcare continuum.
  • Anticipate and recognize significant changes in patient conditions and needs for care.
  • Provide ongoing patient assessments and take appropriate actions when changes occur.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient-centered care.
  • Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety.
  • Assess patient and family readiness to learn and individualize learning approaches.
  • Coordinate discharge plans using an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Apply evidence-based practices in patient care delivery.
  • Incorporate nursing and regulatory standards of care into practice consistently.
  • Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and take action when changes are needed.
  • Support shared governance activities to improve processes and patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Promote collaboration among healthcare team members and assume a leadership role in the care team.
  • Identify threats to patient safety and intervene to prevent harm, reporting safety events in a timely manner.
  • Participate in quality/process improvement initiatives to enhance department functions and patient care experiences.
  • Engage in professional development activities and complete required meetings and competencies in a timely manner.
