Rapid City Medical Center has full-time Registered Nurse position available in Infusion. Responsible for providing professional nursing care to clinic patients under supervision of attending physicians. Current nursing license required. Requirements

  • Current nursing license required.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
  • Knowledge of infusion pumps.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
  • Document visit in each patient's medical record.
  • Monitor patient during infusion.
  • Consult in house physician as needed.
  • Perform prior authorizations as necessary and ensure patient's insurance is verified before infusion.
  • Schedule appointments for patients and contact ordering physician if patient does not get infusions as instructed.
  • Maintain policies and protocols for the Infusion Clinic.
  • Keep a stock of drug and supplies as needed.
  • Provide coverage to The Endoscopy Center for accessing indwelling port catheters for IV access as needed.
  • Maintain inventory records of all drugs.
  • Check voice mail frequently and return all calls by the end of the day.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
