The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients with Hematological and Oncological diseases. Administers chemotherapy/biotherapy, as prescribed by a provider, determines that the patient meets criteria, and verifies orders prior to administration. Provides non-oncologic infusion-related treatments to patients within the community. Provides patients and families with education related to disease, treatment, potential adverse effects, and symptom management. Completes Initial Nursing Assessments on new patients and Focused Reassessments on returning patients. Communicates significant findings to appropriate providers. Documents patient interactions, assessments, advice, and responses to care in the EMR and discusses the plan with the provider. This is a Per Diem position Monday through Friday 8:00AM-6:00PM at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital located at 1978 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, upper Westchester, NY.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Current NYS RN Nursing licensure.
  • Minimum of two (2) years oncology and/or ambulatory experience – chemotherapy/biotherapy
  • Immunotherapy certified.
  • Proficient IV/Central line access skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
