About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position in Infectious Disease at MaineHealth is a vital role that involves providing comprehensive patient care under the direction of physicians. In this role, the RN will utilize their nursing knowledge and skills to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and implement appropriate interventions. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records, adhering to documentation requirements, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws regarding healthcare information. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the RN will interact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff regularly. The RN will be expected to demonstrate strong time management and problem-solving abilities, as they will often need to juggle multiple tasks and respond to changing demands throughout the day. The ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations and uphold patient confidentiality is crucial. Additionally, proficiency in computer skills is necessary for effective documentation and communication within the healthcare system. This position offers opportunities for career advancement, as RNs who meet performance criteria may apply for RN III designation after 12 months.
