About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring an RN for a Flexi/PRN Day shift on our IMCU in Charlottesville, VA! Intermediate Care Unit - Cornell 1: The Telemetry/Stroke Unit at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. Cornell 1 also cares for TIA, acute stroke, and post procedural neuro cases that stepdown from ICU. This 30-bed unit sees a ratio of 1:5 with mixed patient acuity levels and is well supported with additional patient care technicians, educators, and a strong leadership team. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Education Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program BSN or MSN preferred.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • NIH within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Acute care nursing experience preferred
  • Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred
