More about our team Our ICU is a dynamic and diverse unit, specializing in trauma, surgical, medical, and cardiac care. We have 25 beds and offer flexible scheduling with 12-hour shifts available rotating both days and nights. Our team includes a dedicated unit educator and a group of experienced charge nurses. We have implemented many technologic advances to ensuring high-quality care for our patients.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS Certification within 1 year of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year of hire
  • Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios
