About The Position

This Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. The role involves performing plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. Responsibilities also include documenting patient care, monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions to the care team, physician, patient, and family. The RN assists patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation, and collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs. A key aspect of the role is evaluating learning needs and providing appropriate education to patients and their families, while also advocating for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Current RN license in state of practice
  • BCLS required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • ACLS preferred
  • PALS preferred
  • Handle with Care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
