About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU/CCU at Emerson Hospital is a per diem position that requires a minimum commitment of 24 hours per month. This role is critical in providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Special Care Department, ensuring that care is tailored to the specific needs of patients based on their age and medical condition. The RN will report directly to the Nursing Director and is expected to utilize the nursing process effectively to deliver high-quality care. The nursing care provided must align with the philosophy and standards set forth by the Nursing Service Department, as well as comply with regulatory agencies and professional organizations. In this position, the RN is accountable for the safety and quality of nursing care delivered, whether directly or indirectly. This includes not only the care provided to patients but also the communication and support offered to their families or significant others. The RN must demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and quality care, ensuring that all nursing practices meet the established standards of care. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. The RN will be expected to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate excellent customer service skills while providing care in a fast-paced and often high-stress environment. This role is essential in supporting the overall mission of Emerson Hospital to provide exceptional healthcare services to the community.
