About The Position

As a Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor at Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless delivery of patient care, adhering to established standards, mental health practices, and hospital policies. Your role goes beyond supervision – you'll actively contribute to our hospital's philosophy, objectives, and engage in educational and Performance Improvement initiatives. Your leadership on the assigned shift will impact patient care and play a vital role in enhancing overall hospital performance. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing.
  • Able to produce a valid Washington State RN license.
  • A minimum of three years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility.
  • A minimum of three years experience in psychiatric nursing management.
  • Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, CMS, and OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory standards.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Successful completion of crisis intervention training within 90 days of employment and before participating in restraining procedures.
  • Demonstrate exceptional crisis management and time management skills.
  • Showcase your flexibility and creativity, with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exhibit a calm, organized, and professional demeanor even in the face of stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' physical and psychological conditions continuously throughout their care journey.
  • Utilize the nursing process in alignment with the philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles of SPBH.
  • Uphold a safe therapeutic environment grounded in our core values.
  • Oversee and ensure staff adherence to standards of care, mental health practices, and hospital policies.
  • Lead and contribute to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide essential supervision, leadership, and direction to nursing staff.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, formulate improvement plans, and implement necessary changes.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules based on patient needs and maintain legal processes for patients.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop, update, and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment planning offered by Nursing Services.
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, document patient information, and reassess changes in patient condition.
