This role is crucial as it provides both administrative and clinical support to ensure that patient care is delivered effectively, in line with the nursing process. You will assist in monitoring the quality of care by making sure that resources are used efficiently. One of the key aspects of this position is the management and throughput of patients, starting from their admit and continuing through the admission and testing process, and finally until discharge. It is vital to monitor patients throughout this process and facilitate communication with doctors, nurses, and other appropriate healthcare team members. Strong interpersonal skills and communication are essential for this role. You will need to coordinate effectively with various members of the healthcare team to ensure that patient care is seamless and of the highest quality. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor's Degree Science of Nursing (BSN) required for all Ochsner Magnet Facilities.
3 of years of RN experience.
Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
Strong conflict resolution skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to move throughout the department, the hospital, and between off-campus sites.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.

Nice To Haves

Critical care or charge nurse experience.
Case Management background is very helpful.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and CCRN.

Responsibilities

Monitors and addresses admit for appropriateness.
Monitors and addresses delays in testing/consults/dispositions.
Monitors and addresses discharge delays.
Primary focus is on throughput management of patients.
Serves as a resource to the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care.
Rounds frequently throughout the shift identifying issues that need administrative action and communication forward to appropriate level.
Supervises and leads staff effectively.
Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned area.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
Performs other related duties as required.
Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
