About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support the GI Lab/Endoscopy department in a dynamic clinical setting. The RN will coordinate and deliver comprehensive patient care throughout the pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team. This role requires strong clinical skills in endoscopy procedures, moderate sedation administration, and patient education.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum 2–3 years of current Endoscopy experience (within the last 5 years)
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Moderate Sedation certification
  • Successful completion of pharmacology exam
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Program or challenge exam

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Perform thorough physical, cardiovascular, mental, and psychosocial assessments
  • Deliver patient and family education, including discharge planning beginning at admission
  • Assist physicians with gastroenterology procedures including: Colonoscopy (with polypectomy and biopsy) Esophageal dilations Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) Banding procedures Electrocautery procedures (argon plasma coagulation, clipping, subcutaneous injections)
  • Administer medications safely, including moderate sedation per established guidelines
  • Manage patient pain and provide post-procedure recovery care
  • Perform pre- and post-procedure follow-up calls
  • Monitor and document patient conditions and diagnoses accurately
  • Utilize electronic medical records and nursing informatics systems effectively
  • Recognize and report signs of neglect or abuse in accordance with legal requirements
  • Maintain compliance with department policies, regulatory standards, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide service excellence to patients, families, and healthcare team members
