This is a Full Time, Day Shift Position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the General Medical/Surgical ENT Unit (2B). The focus is on providing care for ENT patients, particularly those recovering from facial and neck reconstructive surgeries, which may involve new airways such as laryngectomy and tracheostomy. The role also includes caring for patients undergoing advanced hernia repair and trauma surgeries. The patient population ranges from younger to older adults, and the position offers many opportunities for procedures such as central lines, TPN, trach and laryngectomy care, drain care, PCA management, dressing changes, nursing treatments, medication administration, and postsurgical care. Working at Springfield Memorial Hospital means being part of a Magnet hospital that prioritizes high-quality patient care and encourages RNs to advance their learning to provide the best nursing possible. The environment emphasizes that "care starts with caring," and nurses are expected to exceed customer expectations by treating each patient with individual attention, being a calm presence for families, seeking answers when needed, and showing compassion in all interactions.
