About The Position
Diamond Headache Clinic is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional who can provide high-quality nursing care to our patients with minimal supervision. This role primarily involves working closely with an assigned physician's patients as part of a collaborative team of 3-4 RNs. The RN will support and participate in a team approach to delivering patient care within our outpatient clinic, ensuring that each patient receives the attention and care they need. In this position, the RN will monitor the flow of patients within their team and develop solutions to any patient-related issues that may arise. Responsibilities include adjusting and administering patient medications and treatments according to physician orders, as well as handling telephone triage to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care and advice regarding their medical concerns. The RN will also resolve patient inquiries, including medication refills, lab work questions, and pre-certification for imaging tests and hospitalizations. The role requires utilizing effective interviewing techniques and assessment skills to gather comprehensive medical histories from new patients. Additionally, the RN will conduct patient education on disease processes, medication usage and side effects, and nutritional guidance related to their specialty. Performing IV therapy, including catheter insertion, is also part of the responsibilities when assigned. The RN will contribute to patient satisfaction and participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment for patient care. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are essential, as is the capability to delegate tasks to Medical Assistants when necessary. Compliance with the clinic's standards, policies, and procedures is expected at all times.
