About The Position

The Registered Nurse (R.N.) assess, directs, delegates, coordinates and evaluates consumer care through collaborative efforts with health team members and in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. The registered Nurse may serve as the administration’s designee in supervisory capacity. Coordination of all staff assignments ensures that all consumers will receive optimal care and that the unit duties are completed. The Registered Nurse position is considered a professional licensed position in the Behavioral Health field and a career track of promotion to other nursing positions of increased responsibility and salary is available.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing is required, BSN preferred.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric/mental health field is required.
• Current RN license to practice by the Illinois State Board of Nursing is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Diplomacy and discretion are necessary for the role.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects are required.
• Professional demeanor and appearance are required.

Responsibilities

• Assess consumer care needs and develop care plans.
• Direct and delegate tasks to nursing staff.
• Coordinate with health team members to ensure optimal consumer care.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided to consumers.
• Serve in a supervisory capacity as the administration’s designee.
• Ensure completion of unit duties and staff assignments.
