About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room at St. Mary's Hospital is responsible for delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process. This includes data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient’s problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The RN coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness. The RN also administers medications safely and serves as a point of contact for patient care coordination throughout hospital departments, acting as a patient safety advocate and participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
• Associate of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (preferred).
