DHR Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night position in the Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU) at our Edinburg, TX location. The RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role requires the nurse to direct and coordinate all nursing care for patients in the department, adhering to established clinical nursing practice standards. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery, aiming for the achievement of desired patient outcomes. The position supports the organization's vision and mission, utilizing knowledge of the patient's age and cultural diversity in the provision of care. The RN will also contribute to quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. A current registered nurse's license in the State of Texas is required, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. The RN must obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire. The role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the unit, including cross-training to similar areas and a willingness to be trained for charge nurse responsibilities. After two years of nursing experience, the RN will also have the opportunity to become a preceptor. The RN will perform family-centered, evidence-based nursing care, implementing physician's orders safely and accurately. Responsibilities include admitting, discharging, and transferring patients, maintaining detailed records, providing health counseling, and ensuring a safe environment for patients and co-workers. The RN will administer medications and therapies within the scope of safe nursing practice, formulate and modify patient care plans, and report any clinical limitations to the supervisor. The position also involves providing direction to non-licensed nursing staff and participating in unit-based councils and hospital committees. The RN must maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures and ensure care is delivered in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of Texas and ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice.
