The Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) provides specialized, trauma-informed forensic nursing care to patients who have experienced abuse or violence. This includes sexual assault survivors of all ages, victims of elder abuse, intimate partner violence, domestic violence, child abuse, and strangulation. The FNE also performs suspect examinations and serves as an expert witness in legal proceedings related to forensic exams. Please note that this role is a Banner Staffing Services position. After orientation: Minimum of 6 shifts (8 hours) or 4 shifts (12 hours) per month, based on department needs. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
