Registered Nurse (RN)-Float Pool
About The Position
M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital, located in Burnsville MN, is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool! Are you ready to make a different in people's lives? We have a great opportunity for an RN to gain experience working with a wide variety of patients working in our Float Pool. As well as be a part of our award winning, caring and committed staff in delivering patient and family centered care. Float Pool RN's at Fairview Ridges will support various units such as; medical, surgical, cardiac, oncology, orthopedics/spine, and observation. This position is 60 hours in two weeks or a 0.75 FTE, Night, 12 hour shifts, working every third weekend The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Requirements
- MN RN licensure by start date
- BLS for health care providers
- Telemetry competency required within 90 days of hire.
- Required to validate competency and carry a typical patient care assignment in at least one of the following two clusters: Adult Medicine (competency within 6 months in Med/Surg (3rd , 5th and 6th floors), Critical Care Unit (Medical overflow /telemetry patients), and the Observation unit
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year medical/surgical hospital nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Outcome Planning Conduct thorough assessments of patient needs, including biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors.
- Identify and validate realistic, age- and culturally-appropriate outcomes in collaboration with patients, families, and care teams.
- Care Planning & Coordination Develop individualized nursing care plans as part of a comprehensive treatment strategy.
- Determine and prioritize nursing interventions based on patient acuity, available resources, and preferences.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and effectiveness.
- Implementation & Intervention Deliver care in accordance with established plans, policies, and nursing practice guidelines.
- Initiate appropriate therapeutic and educational interventions tailored to patient readiness and cultural context.
- Delegate care activities appropriately, ensuring safety and adherence to standards.
- Documentation & Safety Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes.
- Recognize and respond to emergent situations with appropriate clinical judgment.
- Ensure all actions are evidence-based, ethically sound, and aligned with patient values and legal standards.
