About The Position

The St. Mary's RN Float Pool consists of 2 different levels: The Float RN Level 1 is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients in a variety of specified nursing units. Must have a minimum of 18 months med/surg/intermediate care experience. The Float RN Level 2 is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients in a variety of nursing units including specialty areas (ED and/or Critical Care). Must have a minimum of 18 months med/surg/intermediate care experience and one year of specialty experience, i.e. Emergency/or critical care experience. A Registered Professional Nurse who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing & evaluating the care of patients. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of therapeutic patient care, patient advocacy, team dynamics, & hospital systems. Serves as a resource support staff. Requires a high degree of initiative & independent judgment.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of 18 months med/surg/intermediate care experience.
• For Float RN Level 2, one year of specialty experience in Emergency or Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients in various nursing units.
• Providing care in specialty areas including Emergency and Critical Care for Float RN Level 2.
• Demonstrating knowledge of therapeutic patient care and patient advocacy.
• Serving as a resource for support staff.
