About The Position

The position involves performing patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history, assisting in triage, and prioritizing care based on patient acuity. The role includes administering medications, treatments, and injections as ordered, assisting with minor procedures, wound care, and splinting. Monitoring patient conditions and reporting any significant changes to the provider is essential. The position also requires educating patients on discharge instructions, medication management, and follow-up care, while maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Collaboration with P.A.'s, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members is necessary, along with ensuring compliance with infection control and safety protocols. The candidate must handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently and assist in transferring patients to a higher level of care at NLH Emergency Department.
