Get to Know Your Team: UT Health Henderson features 41 operational beds, a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center with surgical suites, advanced diagnostic technology, a maternity unit, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and an AASM-accredited sleep center.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current Texas RN license
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) before end of orientation
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) before end of orientation
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) before end of orientation
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation
Nice To Haves
- One year of emergency nursing experience
- Two years of acute care nursing experience
- CEN
Responsibilities
- Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
- Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
- Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
