Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our Midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)
  • Must maintain current Texas RN License
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required before the end of orientation
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) is required before the end of orientation
  • NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation

Nice To Haves

  • One year of emergency nursing experience.
  • Two years of acute care nursing experience
  • CEN
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)

Responsibilities

  • Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
  • Prioritizes patient care needs based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
  • Delivers care consistent with the physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
